Electronic Manufacturing Services
The Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector group was set up on 1 January 2003 and combines, within NEVAT, the strengths of the companies who specialise in the production of electronics. Members generate a substantial part of their turnover with the assembly and / or production of electronic products and/or semi-manufactured products. This can involve the assembly (pick and place) of circuit boards, manufacture of PCBs, but also the construction of complete products composed mainly of electronics.
The mission of the sector group is: "To ensure that the Dutch service-related electronic production companies take up a prominent position on the international market". By developing joint activities they would like to enhance the competitiveness of the members and, in so doing, the competitiveness of the electronics industry in the Netherlands as a whole.
It would also like to make an active contribution in securing and upgrading the expert knowledge that is needed for the continual improvement of the branch. The sector group has been organised in such a way that in addition to the topical matters in the sector, Technology&Innovation has also become an important priority aim. The Technology group meets several times a year and has its own chairman and project team. By drawing the attention of the rest of the manufacturing industry to the innovative character of these members, a positive contribution can also be made to the image of the industry sector. The aim is also to organise a large congress once every two years where the vision of the market will play an integral role.
A proactive attitude is a typical characteristic of these members and they are prepared to make an active contribution necessary to achieve the goals of the EMS sector group. They are continually searching for the best solutions for their clients.
Membership of the EMS sector group is open to NEVAT members who:
- Generate a substantial part of their turnover with the assembly and/or production of electronic products and/or semi-manufactured products
- Do business at their own expense and risk
- Work for several clients
- Component suppliers, trading houses and/or intermediaries cannot become members of the EMS
- Must be prepared to make an active contribution necessary to achieve the goals of the EMS sector group
